Letter of Thanks from Prof Allen Levy - Chapman University for WAR OF THE WORLDS THE TRUE STORY Screening

April 9, 2013

Dear Timothy:

On behalf of all of us at Chapman University, I want to thank you for your wonderful presentation and the screening of "The War of the Worlds: The True Story." It is not every day that my students get a chance to hear from a working professional, especially one who was as eloquent and persuasive as you were. As you know, I took the occasion to teach my Communication Studies students about how media constructs our view of reality and, by extension, our view of history. Your film was the perfect vehicle for illustrating this idea. It is an astonishing work technically, but, as many of my students pointed out, it also contains an underlying humanism, as we see the humans, in all their frailty, running from the Martians. I wish you well with the film as you near the release date, and I hope you will return to Chapman with many other movies. We had fun, our students learned something, and we saw a great movie. All in all, a fabulous experience. Many thanks.
